The graphite processing plant in Ancuabe, northern Mozambique, will be reactivated, and Mozambique is seeking an investor for the project, said Thursday in Balama the President of Mozambique.

Filipe Nyusi, who took part in a rally as part of a three-day working visit to Niassa province, said that in addition to the factory, the government is also committed to the reactivation of Chipembe irrigation area.

“The plant and Chipembe irrigation area will provide new jobs and boost rice production for domestic consumption and for export,” added the President.

Quoted by Mozambican news agency AIM, Nyusi later revealed two investors had been interested in irrigation but added that “given that wanted to keep the total area it was not possible to reach agreement.” (source: macauhub/MZ)
